Every time I transcode a FCPX .mov when the file is finally written onto the hard drive it has h264 as the extension

Why is it that every time I transcode a FCPX .mov file using the preset of “make Blu-Ray” when the file is finally written onto the hard drive it has h264 as the extension? Example: Mytestfile.h264. That is exactly how it is written on the storage drive. I have no application that will open this file type; not QuickTime, not Toast 18. So what am I supposed to do with this file?
