macOS Catalina

Are there reasons NOT to upgrade to Catalina from Mojave 10.14.6?

What reasons has anyone discovered for NOT upgrading to Catalina?

I can research the primary applications I use EXCEPT the changes APPLE has made to their applications, and I use them more than others. My main concerns are with the following: Mail (Mac Mail) with much data, Notes with much data, Calendar (depend heavily on it with family share, Pages, Photos with much data, and iTunes with much data stored. I also sync and use these applications (when currently possible) with my iPhone, iPad, Watch, and with family sharing. I DO NOT want to lose data or the benefits they provide.

Apple has assured me it all will still be there but Apple's tract record on that is not always dependable if the past is the predictor of the future. I've used Apple products almost exclusively since the 1980s (starting with the Apple IIe), so understand I strongly believe in the Apple and its product. I just don't want to lose access to my data.

I currently use Mojave 10.14.6 on a MacBook Pro 2016.

Simple question: While messing around with the accessibility features in the preferences I happened to have turned on a feature that greatly annoys me. Somehow I turned on numbering to the right of drop menus from the home screen menu bar.
