OS X El Capitan

How to delete old backup / user on Time Machine

Hi, I have actually two questions. I have a Time Machine and on there there is still a backup of an old Mac I do not own anymore. I tried to delete the file simply under "Data" but this is not working. How do I do this?

A bit related, after I had to update OS X a while back my Macbook is not making a backup anymore on the Time Machine. So I want to do the same here. Start all over again. Also over here I tried to first disconnect the Time Machine drive and then somehow delete this. Did not work. I tried to rename the file and also that does not work.

So, how do you access the actual backup files and get them hard deleten on the Time Machine????

Thanks!
