macOS High Sierra

smb authentication Mac to Mac very slow using 10.13.6

Environment = 10.13.6 on both Macs.

Network = Ethernet

Accessing SMB share I get credential request popup almost immediately. I enter credentials and it takes several minutes for the share to mount. I have disabled SMB signing on Mac which is hosting the share, and tried forcing SMB v1 and v2 alternately, but no change. It still takes minutes for share to mount. Once the share is mounted, file transfer speed seems normal.

Any suggestions to make the mounting faster?
