Locking audio to clip not in timeline? Question marked as solved ★ Latest reply  by  Henry Cline1 Latest update on the question 6 replies 15 views asked by  Henry Cline1 User profile for user: itsdevi itsdevi User level: Level 1 My final cut pro won't work with the new update of Catalina…

I am editing a music video and there was no timecode sync, so I am post syncing the clips that need sync (most of the clips are not tied to the vocals)

I would like to lock a clip to my audio, but the clip is not in the main timeline, it is above it becasue I am not sure what part of that clip I will use in final cut.

There are certain clips that I want to make sure are locked to the audio especially after I sync them manually.

It seems I can only lock audio (command-option-click) to clips in the main timeline?

Thank you for your patience, I am not very conversant in fcpx
