Can someone please explain to me why Apple in Australia can not replace a $1200 product that my sister purchased in Taiwan, where she no longer lives. These are exactly the same products and the fault is not because of misuse but the pixels in the screen are going, which is a common problem with this model. This product is only just out of warranty and it is very disappointing the response Apple has given her. The my have offered the option to buy a replacement for $650 which is pathetic when my sister has just paid $1200. The assistant we spoke to agreed with us that this is not good enough and said this product should last 5 years.

Even more ridiculous is apple telling her to fly back to Taiwan to change it.

so please tell me why they are not replacing this as the fault is within the Apple hardware.
