MacBook Air

After unlocking device, MacBook shuts down

After I unlock my 2015 MacBook Air, it looks all fine and normal for about 10 seconds then shuts off as if the battery is dead, however I’ve frequently catch a glimpse of my battery % before the shut down and it’s been anywhere between 10%-75%. if I plug it in and wait a few moments, it’ll start up and go back to normal — same exact battery percentage as before the shut down, all the same applications I had open, everything’s left alone. This was never an issue until I recently switched from using my laptop all day every day for school, to using an iPad (but I still use my laptop every single day). Also, when I made this switch I noticed my laptop’s battery would drain a bit quicker.
