macOS Mojave

Terminal Command Line to Ignore Printer Update

I'm looking to use the Software Update "ignore" command line in Terminal to ignore the recent Canon Inkjet Printer Software Update as I update this directly from Canon and the little red badge in Software Update is annoying. I've successfully ignored the Catalina OS upgrade but can't seem to get the Canon one to take effect…

The update:

xxxxxxxxxxxx:~ xxxxx$ sudo softwareupdate –list

Software Update Tool

Finding available software

Software Update found the following new or updated software:

   * 061-10039-3.4

Canon Inkjet Printer Software Update (3.4), 23946K [recommended]

sudo softwareupdate –ignore "macOS Catalina"

I'm wondering if someone could confirm the command and exact syntax in this case – correct spacing and quotes/no quotes, etc.

Also, is it possible to use the numerical ID * 061-10039-3.4 instead?
