macOS Mojave

external SSD hard drive shows no photo preview thumbnail.

Thanks for dropping by first of all.

This is a tricky one.

I recently purchased an external ssd and moved all my images that are stored in files to it.

I'm a photographer and i have alot of images, I went through them last year and tagged all the stand out images with a green tag called 'Goodies'

Since moving the bulk of images to the SSD when i am in Finder and click on Goodies, i dont get a thumbnail preview all I get is a .jpg icon.

Some files show a preview and when i right click and click on 'show in enclosed folder' I learn that the images that show a preview thumbnail are those of which that are still stored on my computers internal SSD.

It's like preview can't index the root images or something.

I tried deleting com.apple.finder.plist, deleting Dropbox too.

Nothing!

Thanks so much for any help.

I'm running Mojave 10.14

on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)
