MacOS: Wi-Fi connection blocked after wakeup

Macbook Pro: mid 2017

MacOS: Mojave 10.14.6

Problem: After the Mackbook Pro sleeps for a while (tens of minutes), when I open and wake it up, the Wi-Fi connection is blocked (i.e., internet not accessible, browser webpage loading failed) but the Wi-Fi icon the top menu bar looks normal.

Then I will have to turn Wi-Fi off and on and the internet connection will get back to normal.

Any advice on how to avoid the Wi-Fi connection blocking after wakeup? Thanks.
