Collapse e-mail sub-folders in iOS

There must be a way to collapse e-mail sub-folders in iOS. I need to archive many incoming e-mails in folders to organize them, as probably 99% of people do. When I tap on the icon to move the message to another folder I have to scroll through hundreds of folders to get to the right one. There has got to be a way to click on a chevron to collapse or expand all sub-folders within a main folder. Default to only show the main folders and then click the chevron to expand particular folders or something like that?

It has been helpful that sometimes the system knows, from prior e-mails, to recommend a message be placed in a particular folder, but that works only for re-occurring messages.
