My son uses a (well-known) brand of flash drive to transfer homework from his iPad to school. The drive has both lightning and USB connectors. The manufacturer typically requires the download of an app to use the drive. Recently his school updated all laptops to MacBooks which do not have a USB port. The school’s security policy disallows installing the ‘required’ app and he is no longer able to transfer his files.
Can I reformat his flash drive to remove all preinstalled software. If so will iPadOS recognize the drive in it’s Files app without an additional adapter.
