It turns out that the Apple Watch Series 5 has the same processor as the Apple Watch Series 4. The Apple website says that Series 5 installed the “64-bit dual-core S5 processor,” which is “2 times faster than the S3 processor.”
The name S5 refers to the entire system-in-chip (SoC), which includes Yourself a new display controller and built-in compass. Series 4 used the concept of S4 without SoC.
According to Xcode, Apple Watch Series 5 has the same generation CPU / GPU as the Apple Watch Series 4; I guess the only changes are a gyro and 32GB of NAND? The plus side of that is that we wont have to worry about watchOS being slower on the Series 4 than on a brand new model

According to Xcode, the Apple Watch Series 5 received the same processor and graphics as the Apple Watch Series 4. As I understand it, the only changes in the new watch are a gyroscope and 32 GB of NAND memory? The plus of this “upgrade”: we don’t have to worry about watchOS running slower in Series 4 than in the new model.
This is not surprising, as many insiders have stated that this year Apple will not plans to show a new generation of Apple Watch. Apparently, we just have a slightly modified version of Series 4. [9to5]
